The other day I found a banana peel in the toy bin, a half-colored unicorn stuck to the dog, and my 3-year-old proudly wearing underpants on his head like a crown.
And for a second, I thought: Wow. I have lost control of literally everything.
But then I looked closer.
That banana? Leftover from snack time which means I fed them.
That unicorn? Proof we did crafts (and maybe even bonded).
That underpants crown? Creativity at its finest.
It’s so easy to measure ourselves against perfect Pinterest pantries or those Instagram moms who somehow wear white without regret.
But listen – if your kids know they’re loved, if you show up day after day (even with bags under your eyes and a coffee IV in your arm), you are crushing it.
Let me say it louder for the mamas in the back, hiding in the bathroom with a granola bar:
You are doing better than you think.
You’re not failing because the dishes are still in the sink.
You’re not falling short because you snapped at bedtime (again).
You’re human. You’re trying. You’re loving.
And that is enough.
Even on the days when everything feels hard — especially on those days — you’re showing up. That’s the magic right there.
So here’s your permission slip to breathe, mama.
To laugh at the mess.
To let go of “perfect” and cling tight to “present.”
Because no one loves your kids like you do.
And no one can mom exactly like you — banana peels, underpants crowns, and all.
You’ve got this. You always did. You just needed the reminder. ❤️
